The story is based around the villian as the main character. She was created, as the paradox's box girl, her name is Pestilence. She is sickness, disease, viruses and plagues, in a human female physical form. What makes this so interesting is that she doesn't go around killing people directly. Infecting people with black toxic gaseous matter is how she survives, because she sees humans as we would see a pig for instance. A pet...or food. She feeds off the health of humans, and animals. She doesn't kill people with the intent to kill, she does it as a means of survival. If someone dies from whatever she infected them with, it's because of the sickness. She never had love, and never understood the essences of caring and human emotions. Until she meets her polar opposite, Nepenthe. Nepenthe is bubbly and quirky, whereas Pestilence has a bad case of superior complex, and feels like she is better than everyone else. Nepenthe was created to kind of control Pestilence's actions, the healer. She would be the hero in the story, but it's not specially about her. Nepenthe fights Pestilence for the first time and decides to take it upon herself to try and befriend her, rather than sought out to kill her. Despite Nepenthe's seemingly inexperience, she basically makes Pestilence feel threatened, because Pestilence acknowledges the fact that Nepenthe is an exceptional fighter. So Pestilence slowly but surely warms up to Nepenthe, and doesn't realize it at first, and when she does they have their second fight, in which she kills Nepenthe. As the days and weeks go on, she has some what of an ephinany and knew she had someone who actually cared for her for once. She didn't understand her newfound emotions until after she killed the closest thing to a companion she's ever had. So she makes a journey to go to Nepenthe's creater's and bargains with them. She is willing to become a human completely, taking away her superhuman abilities, for Nepenthe to live once more. Pestilence is pretty much a villian throughout the whole series, until she can understand the concept of humanly emotions.
